TekLink participates in Teen Leadership Institute Conference
Teen Leadership Institute, partnered with the DeVry Education Group and Girls in the Game, hosted a one day conference to promote leadership, self-esteem and career development for approximately 80 highly motivated and determined Chicago area students at DeVry University and Chamberlin College of Nursing on Saturday, April 1st. Coleen Griffin, Principal Analytics at TekLink was invited to sit on the career mentor panel. She shared stories of her academic and professional background along with four other professional women. The hope is that students will be inspired and develop career goals of their own through exposure to a diverse array of career fields.
Coleen is actively engaged with programs encouraging girls to explore opportunities in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. She established Women in Science in Engineering (WISE) Club at Mother McAuley high School in Chicago through joint partnership with PepsiCo Foundation and is an active speaker in the WISE Club. She was co-lead in the Google/Lero Research Institute/NUI Galway two-day workshop to educate high school girls on the development of apps using Lean & Agile development methods.
Thanks Coleen for stepping up and being a mentor and leader to young women as they decide careers to pursue.
